Dr. Rich Kirkpatrick Honored as “Internist of the Year”
Dr. Rich Kirkpatrick, M.D. ’72, was recently recognized as the Washington Chapter of the American College of Physicians’ “Internist of the Year.” With over four decades of dedicated service in Longview, Dr. Kirkpatrick has been a pillar of the community, offering daily care at his clinic for 24 consecutive years.

In addition to his medical contributions, Dr. Kirkpatrick is an active sponsor and performer in local musical organizations and has served as team doctor for Mark Morris High School and Lower Columbia College for 40 years. He also dedicated 12 years to the Longview City Council and Park Board.

The Kirkpatrick family’s legacy in medicine spans three generations, with his eldest son, Dr. Jim Kirkpatrick, leading as Professor of Cardiology at UW, and his other children following in the footsteps of their father and grandfather, Dr. Neal Kirkpatrick.

Best Doctor

Dr. Rich Kirkpatrick was honored as “Best Doctor” in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 while Dr. Tookes was recognized as “Best Podiatrist” 2021-2024 in The Daily News Readers’ Choice Awards.
